The Jawonio Foundation will be hosting it’s annual Bowl-A-Thon event in early 2013 due to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and the devastating impact to our community. The event will take place from 6:30pm to 9:00pm on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at New City Bowling and Batting Cages, Main St. New City, NY.

Area families are invited to attend or make a donation by pledging to support a bowler or Jawonio Foundation Proceeds benefit adult individuals with special needs who live in our Jawonio group homes throughout the communities we serve.

“The Jawonio Foundation has hosted this event for the past three years,  said Jill Warner, CEO,  “We have had success in combining two opportunities at our Rock and Bowl.  First, we guarantee a fun evening for those in attendance, while at the same time, we raise money to help  Jawonio continue to serve our residents, staff and families who are our neighbors.”

Potential Rock and Bowl participants to register and contribute a minimum of $30.00 to bowl. Thanks to our sponsors, the entry fee includes free items including: T-shirt, food and shoes for both games. We also encourage our bowlers to get pledges per pin to help add more contributions to the event.

Everyone from the community is invited to this event. We hope to fill all of the lanes for that evening as the rock out to the music and strike out for success.

Jawonio also provides adapted equipment for bowlers. Bowling ramps that allow people to bowl while sitting down, a guidance railing for individuals with vision loss and a ball-pushing tool for those who cannot lift the ball are available for use.
