Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program

Employment and Day Services: Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program

Jawonio’s Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP), CDPAP is a unique program that allows people with disabilities and/or those who choose to age in their own homes the opportunity to hire their own personal care aides.

The participant and/or family selects and works with the chosen employee(s) to ensure that the services needed and desired are provided in a manner consistent with the expectations of the participant. The participant is the “employer” and Jawonio serves as the fiscal intermediatry for the participant and personal care aide by processing their billing and payroll for the participants in order to afford them the ability to be as independent as possible by providing flexibility and choices in obtaining home care services. This program is funded by Department of Social Services to Medicaid eligible participants in Rockland County and/or through private pay fees.
